On Commodo’s latest for Sector 7 Sounds, he draws from a familiar palette – think stomach-lurching tension fused with inventive sampling and cinematic stylings – but, as ever, he refuses to rely on formulaic methods or overly headsy concepts. The two tracks featured on the new record – Scabz and Guah – are products of casual experimentation, with Commodo seeking out ways to work with 2-step drum patterns that don’t result in UKG-leaning sounds.
